What is ZeptoMail?#

ZeptoMail is Zoho’s transactional email service, with API and SMTP delivery options. Read more on the official website and in the official documentation.

Profile#

The Jooosi Mail ZeptoMail profile supports these transports and settings:

  • Transport schemes: zeptomail+api (default), zeptomail+smtp, and zeptomail+smtps.
  • API: enter the required API token in api_token.
  • SMTP or SMTPS: enter the SMTP username (defaults to emailapikey) and password.
  • The SMTP password can use the API token when no password is supplied. A configured Webhook secret enables signature verification.

Select a transport scheme and fill in the fields shown for that scheme. Secret fields should be copied from your provider account and kept private.

Create the connection#

  1. In WordPress admin, open Jooosi Mail → Connections and choose New connection.
  2. Enter a descriptive Connection name and select ZeptoMail in Profile.
  3. Choose the transport scheme and enter the matching required credentials listed in the Profile section.
  4. Review the sender, routing, and advanced settings for this connection.
  5. Choose Create connection to save it.

For the shared connection workflow, see Provider profiles and transports.

Verify delivery#

Follow Send a test email and send it to a mailbox you can check. A test sends a real email. Check the mailbox and Jooosi Mail → Logs for the attempt status. See Email logs and resending for details.

Webhooks#

The adapter recognizes soft/hard bounce, open, click, delivered, and feedback-loop events. Enable Webhooks, save the connection, and configure ZeptoMail with the displayed callback URL. A configured Webhook secret enables HMAC signature verification; without one, unsigned callbacks are accepted. See ZeptoMail webhook documentation and the Provider webhooks guide.

Troubleshooting#

For API, check the API token; for SMTP/SMTPS, check the username and password. The default SMTP username is emailapikey. For signature errors, confirm the Webhook secret and that the provider signature header reaches WordPress. For more detail on a failed attempt, review Jooosi Mail email logs.
