What is Bird?#
Bird provides an Email API and SMTP API for sending email. Consult Bird’s site and email transmission documentation for workspace, sending domain, and credential setup. Official links: Bird website · Bird documentation.
Profile#
The profile supports bird+api (default), bird+smtp, and bird+smtps. API requires an API access key and workspace ID; region is optional and defaults to EU (choose EU or US). SMTP and SMTPS require a Bird SMTP API key. The profile supports Bird delivery webhooks.
Create the connection#
Before you start, create or prepare your Bird account, sending domain or sender identity, and the credentials for the transport you will use. Keep credentials private.
- In WordPress admin, open Jooosi Mail → Connections and choose New connection.
- Enter a descriptive Connection name and select Bird in Profile.
- Choose the transport scheme and enter only the settings listed for it in the Profile section.
- Review the sender, routing, and advanced settings, then choose Create connection to save it.
Verify delivery#
Use Send a test email with this connection and send a message to a mailbox you can check. The test sends a real email. Confirm it arrives and review Jooosi Mail → Logs for the attempt status and provider response.
Webhooks#
Bird webhooks are supported. Enable Webhooks in the connection’s Advanced settings and configure Bird to call the endpoint shown for that connection. Follow Bird’s webhook setup and the Jooosi Mail Provider webhooks guide for the supported callback workflow.
Troubleshooting#
For API, check both the access key and workspace ID, and choose the correct region. For SMTP or SMTPS, use the SMTP API key; Jooosi Mail requires its value to start with bk_eu1_ or bk_us1_. Confirm the scheme matches the SMTP encryption choice.
For endpoint and event configuration, see the Provider webhooks guide.
