What is SendLayer?#

SendLayer is an email delivery service with API and SMTP routes for sending transactional messages. Read more on the official website and in the official documentation.

Profile#

The Jooosi Mail SendLayer profile supports these transports and settings:

  • Transport schemes: sendlayer+api (default), sendlayer+smtp, and sendlayer+smtps.
  • API: enter the required API key in api_key.
  • SMTP or SMTPS: enter the SMTP username in username and password in password. Both are required; the password is secret.
  • The profile has no additional provider-specific options.

Select a transport scheme and fill in the fields shown for that scheme. Secret fields should be copied from your provider account and kept private.

Create the connection#

  1. In WordPress admin, open Jooosi Mail → Connections and choose New connection.
  2. Enter a descriptive Connection name and select SendLayer in Profile.
  3. Choose the transport scheme and enter the matching required credentials listed in the Profile section.
  4. Review the sender, routing, and advanced settings for this connection.
  5. Choose Create connection to save it.

For the shared connection workflow, see Provider profiles and transports.

Verify delivery#

Follow Send a test email and send it to a mailbox you can check. A test sends a real email. Check the mailbox and Jooosi Mail → Logs for the attempt status. See Email logs and resending for details.

Webhooks#

SendLayer webhooks cover delivered, open, click, bounce, unsubscribe, and spam-complaint events. Enable Webhooks in the connection’s Advanced settings and configure the displayed callback URL in SendLayer. A configured Webhook secret enables signature verification; see Provider webhooks.

Troubleshooting#

For API, check api_key; for SMTP or SMTPS, check both username and password. If webhook signatures fail, check the connection’s Webhook secret and preserve SendLayer’s signature data in the callback. For more detail on a failed attempt, review Jooosi Mail email logs.
