What is Postmark?#
Postmark is an email delivery service focused on application and transactional email, with API and SMTP delivery. Read more on the official website and in the official documentation.
Profile#
The Postmark profile supports API and SMTP. Each route uses its own server token.
- API: postmark+api is the default and requires a Postmark server token (secret).
- SMTP: postmark+smtp requires a separate Postmark SMTP server token (secret).
- Webhook setup is separate from the send transport.
Create the connection#
Before you begin, create an account and prepare the credentials for the selected transport. Complete any sender or domain verification required by the provider.
- In WordPress admin, open Jooosi Mail → Connections and choose New connection.
- Enter a descriptive Connection name and select Postmark in Profile.
- Choose postmark+api or postmark+smtp and enter the matching token. Do not put a server token in the SMTP field or an SMTP server token in the API field.
- Review the sender, routing, and advanced settings for this connection.
- Choose Create connection to save it.
For the shared connection workflow, see Provider profiles and transports.
Verify delivery#
Follow Send a test email and send it to a mailbox you can check. A test sends a real email. Check the mailbox and Jooosi Mail → Logs for the attempt status. See Email logs and resending for details.
Webhooks#
The adapter recognizes delivery, bounce, spam complaint, open, click, and subscription change events. It verifies requests against a built-in IP allowlist and does not use the connection’s Webhook secret for Postmark verification. See Provider webhooks for the endpoint. A proxy that changes the client address can affect verification.
Troubleshooting#
- For missing-field validation, confirm the scheme and fill the matching token field listed in Profile.
- For send failures, confirm you used the token for the selected transport; the API and SMTP server tokens are separate.
- If Postmark webhook calls do not appear, check that requests reach WordPress with the provider client address visible to the application; the adapter rejects unlisted remote addresses.
