What is Amazon SES?#
Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) is AWS’s cloud email service for sending email. Review AWS’s SES overview and documentation for identity verification, sending access, and region-specific setup. Official links: Amazon SES website · Amazon SES documentation.
Profile#
The profile supports ses+api (default), ses+https, and ses+smtp. API and HTTPS require an access key ID and secret access key; a session token is optional for temporary credentials. SMTP requires the SES SMTP username and password, which are different from AWS API credentials. Region is an optional text setting.
Create the connection#
Before you start, create or prepare your Amazon SES account, sending domain or sender identity, and the credentials for the transport you will use. Keep credentials private.
- In WordPress admin, open Jooosi Mail → Connections and choose New connection.
- Enter a descriptive Connection name and select Amazon SES in Profile.
- Choose the transport scheme and enter only the settings listed for it in the Profile section.
- Review the sender, routing, and advanced settings, then choose Create connection to save it.
Verify delivery#
Use Send a test email with this connection and send a message to a mailbox you can check. The test sends a real email. Confirm it arrives and review Jooosi Mail → Logs for the attempt status and provider response.
Webhooks#
This profile does not declare a provider webhook adapter. Use Jooosi Mail email logs to review sending attempts and delivery status.
Troubleshooting#
For API or HTTPS, check the access key ID and secret key together, and add the session token when using temporary credentials. For SMTP, use SES SMTP credentials rather than AWS access keys. Confirm that the selected region matches the SES account and sender identity.
