What is SendGrid?#

SendGrid is Twilio’s email delivery service, with API and SMTP options for application email. Read more on the official website and in the official documentation.

Profile#

The Jooosi Mail SendGrid profile supports these transports and settings:

  • Transport schemes: sendgrid+api (default) and sendgrid+smtp. SMTPS is not supported by this profile.
  • API: enter the required API key in api_key.
  • SMTP: enter the required SMTP API key in smtp_api_key.
  • Region: optional free-text setting used with either scheme; leave it blank unless your account requires a provider-assigned value.

Select a transport scheme and fill in the fields shown for that scheme. Secret fields should be copied from your provider account and kept private.

Create the connection#

  1. In WordPress admin, open Jooosi Mail → Connections and choose New connection.
  2. Enter a descriptive Connection name and select SendGrid in Profile.
  3. Choose the transport scheme and enter the matching required credentials listed in the Profile section.
  4. Review the sender, routing, and advanced settings for this connection.
  5. Choose Create connection to save it.

For the shared connection workflow, see Provider profiles and transports.

Verify delivery#

Follow Send a test email and send it to a mailbox you can check. A test sends a real email. Check the mailbox and Jooosi Mail → Logs for the attempt status. See Email logs and resending for details.

Webhooks#

The adapter recognizes processed, deferred, delivered, bounce, dropped, open, click, unsubscribe, and spam-report events. Enable Webhooks in the connection’s Advanced settings and configure SendGrid’s Event Webhook with the displayed callback URL. For signature verification, save SendGrid’s Event Webhook public key in the connection’s Webhook secret field. See Provider webhooks.

Troubleshooting#

Use an API key with sendgrid+api and an SMTP API key with sendgrid+smtp; these fields are not interchangeable. If webhook verification fails, check the configured public key and confirm the SendGrid signature and timestamp headers reach WordPress. For more detail on a failed attempt, review Jooosi Mail email logs.
