What is MailKite?#

MailKite provides an email delivery service with API and SMTP relay options. Read more on the official website and in the official documentation.

Profile#

The MailKite profile supports API and SMTP relay transports, including both SMTP and SMTPS schemes.

  • API: mailkite+api is the default and requires an API key (secret).
  • SMTP: mailkite+smtp and mailkite+smtps require an SMTP password. The SMTP username defaults to mailkite; change it only if your MailKite account specifies another value.

The API transport does not support inline CID attachments; use an SMTP scheme when your message needs inline CID attachments.

Create the connection#

Before you begin, verify any sender or domain requirements in your MailKite account and copy credentials directly from its console. Keep secret values private.

  1. In WordPress admin, open Jooosi Mail → Connections and choose New connection.
  2. Enter a descriptive Connection name and select MailKite in Profile.
  3. Choose mailkite+api, mailkite+smtp, or mailkite+smtps and enter its matching credentials. For SMTP, the password is required for either SMTP scheme.
  4. Review the sender, routing, and advanced settings for this connection.
  5. Choose Create connection to save it.

If you use an SMTP scheme, keep the default username unless your MailKite account specifies another value.

Verify delivery#

Follow Send a test email and send it to a mailbox you can check. A test sends a real email. Check the mailbox and Jooosi Mail → Logs for the attempt status. See Email logs and resending for details.

Webhooks#

The MailKite profile does not declare a provider webhook adapter. Track delivery outcomes in Jooosi Mail email logs.

Troubleshooting#

  • For missing-field validation, confirm the scheme and fill all required settings listed in Profile.
  • After a failed test, re-copy the credential for the selected scheme and inspect the connection status and email log.
  • For SMTP, check the username and password together; the profile requires both.
