What is Gmail?#
Gmail is Google’s email service. Jooosi Mail can send through Gmail SMTP with an app password or through the Gmail API using a Google Workspace service account; see Google’s Gmail and API documentation for setup requirements. Official links: Gmail website · Gmail documentation.
Profile#
The profile supports gmail+smtp (default) and gmail+api. SMTP requires the Gmail address and an app password. API requires the Google service account email, its private key, and a delegated Gmail sender address. The profile does not declare provider webhooks.
Create the connection#
Before you start, create or prepare your Gmail account, sending domain or sender identity, and the credentials for the transport you will use. Keep credentials private.
- In WordPress admin, open Jooosi Mail → Connections and choose New connection.
- Enter a descriptive Connection name and select Gmail in Profile.
- Choose the transport scheme and enter only the settings listed for it in the Profile section.
- Review the sender, routing, and advanced settings, then choose Create connection to save it.
Verify delivery#
Use Send a test email with this connection and send a message to a mailbox you can check. The test sends a real email. Confirm it arrives and review Jooosi Mail → Logs for the attempt status and provider response.
Webhooks#
This profile does not declare a provider webhook adapter. Use Jooosi Mail email logs to review sending attempts and delivery status.
Troubleshooting#
For SMTP, use an app password rather than the account password. For API, verify all three service account/delegated sender fields and complete Workspace domain-wide delegation and Gmail API setup as required by Google.
