Troubleshoot email delivery

Diagnose email delivery failures with mail logs, provider status, queue state, and webhook events.

Use email logs and queue status to find where a message stopped. Start with the mail log; retry only after you understand the error and know whether the original message is still active.

Inspect the message#

  1. Open Jooosi Mail → Logs → Email and search for the subject or recipient.
  2. Open the message and review its final status, connection attempts, and provider error.
  3. In Connections, check that the attempted connection is enabled and that its profile, transport, credentials, and sender settings are correct.

Use wp jooosi-mail connection:status --all to inspect route availability and wp jooosi-mail mail:attempts --limit=20 to inspect recent attempts.

Check queued delivery#

If delivery is asynchronous, run wp jooosi-mail queue:status. Inspect failed messages with wp jooosi-mail queue:failed --limit=20 and active work with wp jooosi-mail queue:processing --limit=20. Stale claims are normally released by the worker; see Queue operations and retries.

Verify provider feedback#

If a provider callback should have updated message health, check wp jooosi-mail webhook:status --all=true and wp jooosi-mail webhook:events --limit=20. Confirm the connection accepts webhooks and that the provider has the right URL and verification settings. See Provider webhooks.

Test after correcting the issue#

Send a test to an address you control, then check its new log entry. Test email is delivered for real. Use Resend email only when appropriate; sending a new copy of a queued or processing message may duplicate it. See Email logs and resending.
