Jooosi Icon includes three built-in icon sources: the Iconify catalog, SVG files you upload to WordPress, and SVGs bundled with the plugin. Themes and plugins can also register custom sources. Every icon is addressed as prefix:name, such as lucide:arrow-right, local:brand-mark, or jooosi:windpress.
Iconify collections#
Browse and search more than 200,000 icons across 150+ collections, including Lucide, Material Design Icons, Bootstrap Icons, and Font Awesome. Iconify icons are fetched on demand through the Iconify API and cached by the plugin. Your site needs outbound access to that API when an icon is requested. These icons are not copied into your uploads folder.
Your uploaded SVGs#
Open Jooosi Icon in the WordPress admin to upload SVG files and organize them into sets. Files at the top level use the local: prefix; files in a named set use that set name as the prefix. For example, local:brand-mark or social:instagram. Upload SVG files up to 1 MB; Jooosi Icon sanitizes SVG markup before it is served.
See Local SVG Icons for upload and set management steps.
Icons bundled with Jooosi Icon#
The plugin includes a small set of Jooosi icons for its products and integrations. Use the jooosi: prefix, for example jooosi:windpress. The older omni: prefix remains available for existing content.
Custom sources#
A theme or plugin can register a directory of SVGs as another icon collection. The registered collection appears in the picker and uses its own prefix. See Register a Custom Source for a PHP example.
Choose a source#
- Use Iconify for a broad catalog without managing files.
- Upload local SVGs for brand assets or icons that must be served from your WordPress site.
- Use bundled icons for the small Jooosi-specific set.
- Register a custom source when a theme or plugin needs to ship its own SVG collection. Read Iconify Icons for collection search, prefix and name format, and API troubleshooting.
