Introduction

A basic intro to Jooosi Icon.

Icons help people recognize actions and scan a page. In WordPress, the available icon controls can vary between editors, themes, and plugins.

Jooosi Icon brings icon browsing, local SVG files, and developer tools together in one plugin. Choose an icon in a supported editor or use the same prefix:name format in your templates.

What is Jooosi Icon?#

Jooosi Icon is a WordPress plugin for finding, organizing, and rendering SVG icons. Use the picker in a supported editor, manage your own SVG sets in WordPress, or add icons to a theme or plugin with the web component and REST API.

Features#

Jooosi Icon gives you a consistent way to work with icons across your WordPress site:

  • Browse a large catalog: Search more than 200,000 icons across 150+ Iconify collections. Iconify icons are fetched on demand, so your WordPress server needs outbound access to the Iconify API.
  • Manage your own SVGs: Upload SVG files to WordPress, group them into named sets, and use them from your site. Jooosi Icon sanitizes uploaded SVG markup.
  • Use native editor integrations: Add icons in Gutenberg, Elementor, Bricks, Breakdance, LiveCanvas, ACF, Etch, and Divi 5.
  • Build with icons: Render icons with the <jooosi-icon> web component, query the REST API, or register an SVG source from a theme or plugin.
  • Keep one naming format: Use prefix:name for Iconify icons, uploaded SVGs, bundled icons, and custom sources.

Who is Jooosi Icon for?#

Jooosi Icon is for WordPress designers and content creators who want to choose icons visually, site owners who manage brand SVGs, and developers who need the same icon names to work in editors and theme code.
