The SendGrid profile sends through its API or SMTP transport. Choose one scheme and use its matching credential; the two key types are not interchangeable.
Before you begin#
Have an account with the provider that is enabled to send mail, a sender address accepted by that account, and credentials for the method you plan to use. Copy credentials from your own provider console. Do not include credential values in documentation, screenshots, or support requests.
Supported transport and settings#
Supported transport schemes#
The profile supports sendgrid+api (default) and sendgrid+smtp. The profile does not offer SMTPS.
Required settings#
- API: SendGrid API key (secret).
- SMTP: SendGrid SMTP API key (secret).
- Optional Region is a free text field; leave it blank unless your account requires a provider-assigned region value.
Create the connection#
- In WordPress admin, open Jooosi Mail → Connections and choose New connection.
- Enter a descriptive Connection name and select SendGrid in Profile.
- Choose the transport scheme you want to use. Enter its required fields listed above and leave fields for other schemes empty.
- Review the sender, routing, and advanced settings for this connection.
- Choose Create connection to save it.
For the shared form workflow, see Connect a provider.
Verify delivery#
Use Jooosi Mail’s Send a test email flow, select this connection, and send to an inbox you control. The test sends a real message. Confirm the attempt appears in Email Logs and review the provider response if it fails. See Send a test email.
Webhooks#
SendGrid events are supported for processed, deferred, delivered, bounce, dropped, open, click, unsubscribe, and spam report. Enable webhook ingestion for this connection and configure SendGrid’s Event Webhook with the callback URL shown by Jooosi Mail. Save the SendGrid Event Webhook public key in the connection’s webhook-secret field to enable signature verification; without it, unsigned callbacks are accepted. Check webhook status before relying on event verification.
Troubleshooting#
- If validation fails, confirm the selected scheme matches the key type and remove any accidental whitespace.
- If sending fails after save, review the latest connection attempt and confirm the sender address is accepted by SendGrid.
